Q6. A lot of young people in the UK would love to come to Faliraki for a summer to gain summer work, what is the most important advice for them to help them work & live on the island for a summer?
Q7. During peak season, Faliraki is predominantly a young persons resort. Rhodes has a lot of very interesting historic sites around the island. Aiming at young people what do you think they should see when they come to the island?
During our trailer shot in May we were very lucky to be able to get an interview with the Major of Faliraki (Yannis Iatridis). Below is a Q&A of what we talked about when we met.
Since 1958 - 60 tourists have been coming to Rhodes.
Faliraki offers you beaches you can't find anywhere else, our Municipality is awarded first in Greece with the highest number of Blue Flags!. Faliraki offers you culture, great villages, hospitality, safety, cleanliness, watersports & of course a lot of fun!
Faliraki! This is the place I was born & raised!
Rhodes has always been a wedding destination. Firstly mainly other nations, the Japanese 20 - 25 years ago came to Rhodes to get married. The island is a jewel & can offer them everything for the first period of their married life.
The next decade is going to be the decade of quality, the decade of alternative forms of tourism, atheltic centers, and golf grounds. Businessmen build new or change their old businesses to 5 star qualities, because Rhodes is the island of 4 seasons.
They should visit 'O.A.E.D'. This is the organisation responsible for working people in Greece & they can get to know their rights & obligations working in Greece.
They should learn the history of Rhodes, they should visit the old town of Rhodes, Lindos, the ancient theatre, Kalithea Springs, Rhodes museum and the Palace which are all very important historic sites.
